Milford Hospital • Milford, Connecticut |
| Charged with site improvement and the production of concrete foundations, a massive expansion of this hospital's total facility was to proceed in one sweeping undertaking. This project truly tapped the meaning of the words "logistical talent." | ||
| Not a square foot of the hospital's property was spared upheaval. Deep excavations in solid rock required carefully coordinated drilling and blasting operations-some directly under the existing operating rooms. Concrete foundation walls up to forty feet high were managed through the artful use of a gang forming system that provided the opportunity to make large consolidated moves with minimal set-up and laydown area requirements. | ||
The skill of Giordano’s self-performance team was evident at every turn. There were no accidents, no disruptions to the operating hospital, nor was there a missed anchor bolt location. Altogether, this tough project was handled skillfully by a determined team. |
