The schoolhouse can be a defining element of a neighborhood. In this community and since 1925, all graduates of Nathan Hale came away with a special set of "bragging rights." The restoration and expansion of this sunny Pre K-8 school displays the best of the City of New Haven's initiative to preserve the historic value of its building inventory while simultaneously bringing it in line with the needs of the population currently being served. |

| Under the "Renovate as New" philosophy employed on this project, the physical, mechanical and electrical characteristics of the original structure were completely renewed. The complimenting addition, which has more than doubled its size, further ensures that Nathan Hale students will continue to experience a strong sense of school pride for decades to come. | ||
