Seton Nameplate • Branford, Connecticut

Born out of a grass roots family enterprise from the neighborhoods of New Haven, Fen Seton soon realized that he had grasped onto a spiraling success. The extent of the application of his identity products to such a broad marketplace was a surprise even to him. The amazing growth of his company soon led to the need for expansion of both the production and mail order facilities.

In the early eighties Branford was being recognized as an attractive location for companies like Seton. It had ample land resources that came with excellent highway access and an attractive tax base. Off to Branford it was for the Setons.
Soon the name Seton was known throughout the entire nation’s business community as the company to go to for excellent products. Accordingly, it was natural for it to become a target for acquisition by the dominant company in this industry – the W.H. Brady Company from Chicago. Almost immediately after the acquisition was completed the Brady Company, the decision was made to more than double the production facility’s high bay floor area and to convert the existing production space to additional mail order and office space. It was a pleasure for Giordano to work with the Setons and the Brady Company as they became rooted in both Branford and the growing marketplace they serve.
