Shaw's Supermarket • Orange, Connecticut |
With great success in the New Hampshire and Massachusetts market, Shaw’s Supermarkets made the corporate decision to take a run at Stop and Shop’s territories. With the demise of the A&P/Finest chain, two levels of entry were provided to Shaw’s – new construction and the acquisition of existing properties in the bankruptcy court. The first venture would be to Orange, Connecticut and it would be new construction. |
| Giordano's site development team was given the challenge of resurrecting the dilapidated Western Electric assembly and distribution headquarters to create the platform for Shaw's and a Lowe's Home Center. | ||
Altogether, this 30-acre site was comprised of multiple grade changes, exceeding 40 feet and more, mass earth movement, extensive utility distributions, extensive wetland control and mitigation, and the construction of several massive retaining walls. The work done by Giordano dovetailed directly into one of our primary mission statements – |

| " Control the site and foundation and control the job. " | ||
